At Tustin Family Chiropractic, we believe that it is easier to raise healthy, happy, low stress kids than it is to try and fix unhealthy adults. Because of this, we take extra care to provide safe and gentle chiropractic care for the children in our office.

Why Does My Child Need A Chiropractor?

So many of the experiences of being a kid can affect the nervous system in ways that we may not see right away and because the childhood years are the most important stages in your child’s neurological development, it’s important to make sure that their nervous system is working the best it can. From a difficult birth experience, to a fall or accident, childhood is full of scrapes and bruises. That’s why we believe it’s important to have your child checked by a chiropractor to assure they’re always at their best.

My youngest daughter was only 12 minutes old when I adjusted her as she was getting cleaned up and evaluated. Doctor said to me, “What are you doing?” I told her, “Adjusting my daughter.” Her comment was, “Why”. I looked at her and said, “stick your head out that hole and tell me how you’re going to feel?” Doctor said, “point taken”.

As parents, we need to understand the importance of having our children evaluated and adjusted by a chiropractor. Our children have the same nervous system we do as adults, the only difference is experience and time.

When Should I Bring My Child In?

We recommend bringing your child in as soon after birth as possible. Because the birthing process can often be hard on a child, we want to make sure they are checked and adjusted if necessary.

Safe and Gentle Techniques

Dr. Tagle has extensive training with Dr Claudia Anrig, a pediatric chiropractic specialist who teaches her Peter Pan Potential program across the country. The adjusting techniques are not the same techniques you may have seen chiropractors using with adults. Because children’s skeletal anatomy is different than adults, it requires a different type of adjustment. The amount of force needed to adjust an infant or a toddler is similar to the amount of pressure you would use to check the ripeness of a tomato.
