Dr. Stark's Philosophy on Chiropractic Care
The human body is astounding in its function. As amazing as it may be, the simplest misalignment within its framework can lead to malfunction, pain, and disease. Maintaining good health depends upon a normally functioning nervous system.
The bones which house and protect our spinal cord can become misaligned, causing pressure on the spinal cord and spinal nerve roots. This pressure can irritate and interfere with the important signals being sent from the brain, through the spinal cord, and on to the periphery of the body. Manifestations of these effects can include pain, weakness, numbness and tingling, as well as malfunction of the organ systems of our bodies.
Individual levels of vertebral misalignment affect specific areas of the body. For example, a vertebral subluxation in the neck may cause pain in the head, neck, or arms. It may also affect our breathing. Subluxations in the low back may cause pain in the legs and affect bowel movements. As a doctor of chiropractic, my primary focus is to locate points of interference and correct these spinal misalignments, so the body can regain balance and heal itself.
